BPY Reading Rocks Information

Dear BPY Parents,

We would like to invite you to join Ben Porat Yosef at our annual Reading Rocks Event at Barnes & Noble in Hackensack, NJ.

The book fair will take place on Sunday,
November 24th from 11am-3pm.

This fun event aims to promote and celebrate reading and supports the growing Ben
Porat Yosef library!

This year's program will include :

*Torah and Coffee Shiur with Rav Ronen;

*a talk on "Contemporary Jewish Literature" with Elana Dushey, BPY parent and
adjunct professor at Fordham University;

*face painting;

*a scavenger hunt;

*a performance of songs from "Annie";

*student poetry readings;

*puppet show;

*announcement of the final numbers from our reading contest!

A portion of everything you buy in the store will go back to the school!

Do you need gifts for your babysitter, haircutter, karate teacher, dance instructor, piano teacher, doctor, mailman? A gift from Barnes & Noble - like Godiva chocolates, mugs, bookends, booklight - would be great! Treat yourself to a cup of coffee, and maybe just pick up a gift for yourself!

Tuition Assistance Information

This year we are pleased to announce that the entire Tuition Assistance process for the 2014-2015 school year will be done online through TADS.

Please be aware of the new timeline.

November 19, 2013 - Application process on TADS opens to families.
December 31, 2013 - Application submission deadline.

How Many Pages Can Your Child Read???

Dear Parents,

We are thrilled for BPY's upcoming "Reading Rocks" event at Barnes and Noble that will take place this Sunday, November 24. To create excitement for this program, we need your help. We are asking that you keep track of the number of pages your child reads over the next few days. Please fill out the forms which were sent home with your child(ren) and send them back to school as completed.

We are creating a visual representation of the number of pages read at BPY on an individual student level, class level and the entire school. For each completed form, a book with your child's name will be placed on the class graph. Even the school faculty is participating in tracking their pages read!

We look forward to seeing you at the event where we'll reveal the final tally of pages read by BPY students and staff. Remember Reading Rocks!
