| During vacation week, last week, for many special needs students, BPY was host to three children on several days. A committee of our school's Chevrat Chessed, Tamideinu seeks to invite students who are unable to participate in a regular day school program, to spend some time with our students. Last week, students and teachers of grades 2, 3 and 4 hosted our visitors as they joined in tefilah and classroom activities. The following parent quotes are reflective of Talmideinu's impact: "In general, the Talmideinu program is something {our daughter} enjoys so very much and we are so grateful that BPY has created and continues to run such a meaningful program. Thank you for making her and the other 'special' kids feel like a part of the BPY family." "As a mom of a special needs child, I am especially grateful to you for creating as program to include these special children in as Jewish environment." We are appreciative all of the efforts of the Committee Chair, Chedva Breau, who arranged the supervision of our guests by several parent volunteers. Many thanks to the following parents for their participation and help: Neshama Kutin (Chair of the Chevrat Chessed) Ahrona Amar, Chani Bensimon, Deborah Passner, Dina Niewood, Karen Goodman, Samantha Katz, and Sarit Perry. Thanks also to these staff members for their assistance: Chaya Gray, Debbie Schwartz and Sharon Sommer. If you know of a child that might benefit from the Talmideinu experience, please contact Chedva Breau at chedvabreau@yahoo.com |
