A Message from the OU Advocacy Center
OU Advocacy Action Alert: Urge Governor Christie to Increase Funding for Non-Public Schools New Jersey Jewish day schools receive less than $100 per child in basic services, such as technology and nursing. With the governor's budget for Fiscal Year 2015 scheduled to be released on February 18th, we urge you to call Governor Christie and ask that he increase that amount to $500 per student. It is vital that the governor hear from his constituents. Click here to take action on this important issue. |

Due to the snow day last Wednesday, Discovery Learning Day: Junior High Edition (DLD) has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, February 19th. As was originally planned, as part of the program, there will be a bone marrow drive from Gift of Life. Gift of Life is a Jewish organization that helps pair people in need of a bone marrow donation with donors through a simple cheek swab. Once again, this is a fantastic opportunity to show our students a l'ma'aseh aspect to our DLD. I am honored to be able to invite any parents/teachers who are not already on the donor registry to join us tomorrow during drop off (8:15 am - 9:30 am) or pick up (2:00 pm - 5:00 pm) to come and participate in a painless 5 minute cheek swab that might help save someone's life. This is a wonderful opportunity to do an incredible chessed. Join us in teaching the children the importance of taking action to help someone in need. |
