Carpool Notice

Frisch Court is still a little narrow because of all the accumulated snow piled on the sides. We are hoping that with the upcoming rain forecast, most of the snow will melt making carpool easier. In the meantime, for tomorrow's dismissal, please do not line up the hill where cars are loading in front of the school. Please make sure to stop in front of the driveway (where the mini buses load) until you are called in.

To make the carpool run as smoothly as possible:

If you are picking up only an EARLY CHILDHOOD child, please arrive at 3:20 pm.
If you are picking up only an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL child, please try not to arrive before 3:30 pm.
If you are picking up both early childhood and elementary children, please try not to arrive before 3:30 pm.

Thank you so much for your cooperation in helping dismissal run as quickly and smoothly as possible!

Parent Survey & No Homework Wednesday

By now you should have received the link to this year's parent survey in your email inbox. If you cannot find it, please check your spam\junk box. Some parents mentioned that they found their link in there!

Your feedback is extremely valuable and gives us great insights as to how to continue to make BPY the absolute best that it can be. We know how valuable your time is, so...we have designated tonight as NO HOMEWORK WEDNESDAY for all BPY students!

Mishloach Manot

Once again, the PTO is organizing the school-wide mishloach manot project!  The BPYPTO is preparing big, fun, and beautiful baskets that will be distributed at the BPY Purim Megillah Reading on Sunday, March 16, 2014.  Baskets that are not picked up at the chagigah will be sent home the following day.

The cost to participate is $2 per recipient, with a maximum cost of $118 to send to the entire BPY family, board, and staff list, which is over 245 families!  Every BPY family, board member, and staff member will receive one basket along with a card listing all the individuals/families from whom it was sent.

For everyone's convenience, we will once again be utilizing the online services of www.HappyPurim.com for this project. You should have received your login code and information in your email last week. If you have not received it or have any questions, please feel free to contact the PTO at PTO@benporatyosef.org.

Camp Kef Welcomes Morah Yael Davidovics

We are thrilled to introduce our new camp director, our own Yael Davidovics! Yael is a well loved early childhood teacher who has been part of the BPY family for over 7 years. Yael, an Israel native, began her career in business, but her love for working with children made her realize her true calling was in the classroom and on the camp ground. In addition to her degree in Psychology, Yael is a creative, exuberant and passionate teacher and camp professional. Her experience running multiple mini-camp programs, along with the long list of both parents and children who clamor to be the president of her fan club, make her an exciting addition to Camp Kef.

Sarit & Yael will be working closely together over the next few months until camp starts to assure a smooth transition and an amazing summer for all the children at Camp Kef. Hopefully it will stop snowing by then.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Chessed Initiative

The Chevrat Chessed is proud to present a new initiative on behalf of our students who select a chessed project in conjunction with their upcoming bar or bat mitzvah. Whenever a student announces a personal B'Nei Mitzvah project, we will publicize it and print it in the daily bulletin. In this way we are hoping that BPY families will generously contribute to the success of their mission.

Our first project is:

Reina Amar has chosen to support A Package from Home which is an all-volunteer (minus the part time contact person who schedules all pickups, distributions, etc.) organization that supports Israeli soldiers, most especially lone soldiers by collecting needed items for the troops, raising money, and running a card writing campaign.  Reina is collecting: toothbrushes, lip balm, non aerosol deodorant, travel size tooth paste, & "Hotties" hand and feet warmers.  All items will be sent to Israel to be distributed through care packages packed for the soldiers.   All items can be mailed or dropped off at the Amar home at 440 Forest Avenue in Teaneck by March 7, 2014.  To make monetary donations, please contact Ahrona Amar - ahrona.amar@gmail.com.   Thank you!

The Parent Survey Launches on February 17th
. Our goal is 100% participation
