Dress Code Reminder

As the weather slowly gets warmer, the students are being reminded of our dress code policy. Please see below for a reminder of our dress code for both students as well as parents and guests:

All students must wear closed shoes (no crocs or sandals please.) Students must wear sneakers on gym days. For safety reasons, students will not be permitted to participate in gym without sneakers.

All boys, subsequent to toilet training, must wear Kippa & tzizit on a daily basis. All students must wear uniform dress at BPY. The following are the new, simplified dress code guidelines that can be bought from any store.

Elementary School Grades 1-5:

 Boys: Navy or khaki pants (No cargo pants or jeans) and solid colored white, navy, or light blue collared shirts & sweaters. Kippa and tzitzit daily. No baseball hats. Zip up sweatshirts may be worn in solid uniform colors only.

 Girls: Navy or khaki skirts (Must cover the knee, no jean or jean look skirts) and solid colored white, navy or light blue shirts & sweaters (no cap sleeves). Zip up sweatshirts may be worn in solid uniform colors only.

Junior High School:

 Boys: Khaki, Navy or Black Pants; Any solid color collared shirt with no logos (no cargo pants, jeans or baseball caps); kippa and tzizit daily.

 Girls: Khaki, Navy or black skirts (must cover the knee); Any solid shirt with no logos. Sleeve must reach mid-way between the shoulder and the elbow (t-shirts are permitted).

 Sweatshirts/ Fleeces: Any solid color, no logos. If a child's dress is in non-compliance with the school's uniform, parents will be informed by phone or in writing.

Toddler - Kindergarten: Please send your children to school in comfortable clothing. They will be exposed to a wide variety of art and play materials and should not have to be concerned with spoiling fine clothing. We also ask that all girls refrain from wearing tank tops and sleeveless dresses.

Parents & Guests: In order to send a consistent message to our children, we ask that all parents dress according to our dress code, when dropping off and picking up their children and when joining us for events, meetings, trips, and special activities at school or planned by the school. Therefore we ask that men wear kippot or another type of head covering, and that women wear knee length skirts and tops with sleeves and modest neckline.

Thank you in advance for your attention and cooperation.
