Sports Day Information
 
Tomorrow, the students of grades Pre-K - 8th grade will be going on a "Sport's Day" Field trip to Van Saun Park. They will enjoy outdoor learning, playing in the fields and playground, picnic lunch, and fun sports. 

  

Please note that all students (even those not on school lunch) will have pizza for lunch. All students should come to school with a disposable water bottle.

  

Dress Code:

  • Students in Pre-K & K should wear red t-shirts, baseball hats and sunscreen.
  • Students in 1st - 5th Grade may wear any sports clothing. No sleeveless shirts allowed. Girls must wear knee length skirts but can wear leggings. underneath. Boys must wear kippot & tzizit. Please be sure to wear sneakers & sunscreen. 
  • Junior High students may wear sports cloths as well. No sleeveless shirts allowed and girls must wear knee length skirts. Boys in Junior High must come to school in long pants for teffilah and may change to shorts before departing for the park. Boys must wear kippot & tzizit.

 

If you would like to come and join in the fun, please meet us at the park. Grades 2-8 will be there at 10:00 am and Pk-1st at 10:15 am. Everyone will be back at school around 1:15 pm.

Celebrate Parade Information for Marchers, Volunteers & Spectators
 

 

This Sunday, June 1, 2014, BPY will be marching up 5th Avenue in the Celebrate Israel Parade for Israel's 66th Anniversary. The Parade is a wonderful opportunity to show our support for Israel. Below please find information for marchers and spectators. Please read them carefully to ensure that the day runs smoothly.


The BPY's *spectator spot* is on the west side of 5th Avenue at 72nd
Street. The whole parade runs from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MARCHERS:*

SCHEDULE OF THE DAY:

11:45 pm: Arrival at BPY for a light lunch and to receive marchers "uniform"
12:15 pm: Begin to board the buses for a 12:30 pm departure
2:00 pm: Assemble our parade display and lineup at 53rd street between 5th and 6th
2:30 pm: Step off - Begin marching on the parade route
4:45 pm: Estimate arrival time back at BPY for pickup from the buses

*Please Note:*

A) All students in grades 4th - 8th Grades must take the bus from BPY to the parade (if you have not yet provided Pnina with a permission slip please click here and send to the office ASAP)


B) BPY will send home a parade uniform tomorrow. Please be sure to wear the parade hat & t-shirt to school on Sunday. We will provide a water bottle on sunday.


C) Dress Code:
Boys:  parade t-shirt, parade hat, tzizit, jean pants (no shorts) and sneakers
Girls:  parade t-shirt, parade hat, below the knee length jean skirt and sneakers

** Weather note - The parade takes place rain or shine. In the event of
cool weather please wear a white long sleeved shirt underneath the parade t-shirt. If the forecast calls for rain, please come with a clear disposable rain poncho.  

D) The parade route will end at 74th Street and Madison Avenue. Children may NOT be taken off the line before the end of the parade. If you are taking your child with you after the parade, please contact Rav Ronen (201) 230-9877 or Mr. Fischman (201) 575-6122 and be sure to check your child out with one them so each child is accounted for.

 

E) If you have an emergency during the parade and need to reach an
administrator, please feel free to contact Rav Ronen or Mr. Fischman.

Walkathon Updates
 

 

We have crossed the $40,000 mark for the walkathon!

Kol hakavod to the 124 BPY families who have a page up and are actively receiving donations!

 

Challenge #3 was announced yesterday - if we hit $50,000 by Tuesday, a superhero will be serving ice cream to the kids for a Pre-Shavuot Ice Cream Party!

We know you can do it - simply send out an email with a link to your page and the donations will come in quickly!

 

You can also boost your page by $100 simply by snapping a photo of your child engaged in an act of chesed, and posting it on the BPY Facebook page with the hashtag #BPYWalkathon2014.  Each photo earns you $25 in Chesed Bucks (up to 4 per family please).

  • Shop this Friday at the Kindergarten Lemonade Stand in front of the home of Catherine & Jeff Brown, 7 Elkwood Terrace, Tenafly from 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm. 
 
  • Spinning for Scholarships at FLYWHEEL!  Wednesday, June 11 from 8:30 pm - 9:15 pm.  Gila & Michael Harary and Tamar and Uri Moche invite you to spin while you help raise money for the 6th Annual Scholarship Walkathon!  $25 per bike or $36 per couple.  Limited space!  To RSVP click here.
