Reminder: Incoming Junior High Parent Orientation

We are delighted to remind you that the incoming Sixth Grade parent orientation is on the school calendar for Monday, May 12th and we strongly encourage you to attend.

We have an exciting and successful Junior High School program and are eager to share and discuss it in detail with you. Even if you have already experienced ourJunior High with another one of your children, it is important for you to be present for this meeting, as changes are made from year to year.

The program will take place at 8:00 pm in the school library.

Reminder: Incoming First Grade Parent Orientation

We are pleased to remind you that the First Grade Parent Orientation meeting is on the school calendar for Tuesday evening, May 13th, at 8:00 PM in the school library.

At this time, we will have an opportunity to discuss the exciting transition from Kindergarten to First Grade. We will be joined by Jessica Kohn, Early Childhood Director, Elana Cohn, Director of Special Services & 1st and 2nd GradeCoordinator, and Dr. Rebecca Mischel our psychologist. Topics will include our programs of instruction, homework, staff support, enrichment and dress code. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to an informative evening.

Celebrate Israel Parade Permission Slip

& T-Shirt Order Form

We are eagerly anticipating our school's participation in the annual Celebrate Israel Parade annual Celebrate Israel Parade which will take place on Sunday, June 1st, 2014. Students in grades 4-8 will proudly represent Ben Porat Yosef as they march up the parade route on Fifth Avenue. (Please note that it is mandatory for students in grades 4-8 to march). Please fill out the permission slip for your child/ren below and send back to Pnina ASAP.

We would like the entire BPY Family to be involved in this wonderful event! Any parent is welcome to march with us. If you would like to, please fill out the form below under "chaperones" and order a T-Shirt. (Please note: the New York Parade Committee prohibits strollers and children under 4th grade from marching - but they can definitely cheer the marchers on!)

As we are all aware, this event marks the single most significant communal demonstration of support for Israel throughout the year. Sadly, considering the world-wide negative climate towards Israel, as well as in some government offices here at home, our personal and communal support for Israel is more important than ever.

We therefore urge each of you to make every effort to ensure that your child/ren participate in this event. As it is essential that we have a well-represented contingent, we also ask that our parents join us on the parade route.
